POTENZA (ITALPRESS) – “An important day for Basilicata, 60 years since the foundation of the Trisaia Centre. A Center born from nuclear history and then superseded by the country’s decision to abandon nuclear power, Trisaia has become a research center in the field of the environment, energy and biotechnology. Very important issues for the development of Basilicata and Southern Italy.”
This was stated by the Councilor for Environment and Energy of the Basilicata Region, Cosimo Latronico, in his speech at the meeting on the 60th anniversary of the ENEA Trisaia Research Center in Rotondella.
“Today we remembered these sixty years of history, we noted, in the presence of the president of ENEA Gilberto Dialuce, of the general director of ENEA Giorgio Graditi, and with the remote intervention of the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto Fratin and the Minister for European Affairs, Cohesion Policies and the PNRR, Raffaele Fitto, the centrality of this infrastructure both for Basilicata and for the whole of Southern Italy. We must relaunch and build an increasingly intense agreement between the Basilicata Region and ENEA. We have already undertaken joint initiatives and we must undertake others, in the field of energy efficiency, decarbonisation, hydrogen, the construction of increasingly virtuous systems in the field of the circular economy. Enea has an important potential, we are mutually committed to enriching it, from the point of view of the activities of the researchers, for whose work here there is a very important environmental and instrumental condition”.
“We must create conditions of attraction so that researchers from Lucania and even non-Lucania can choose the Trisaia Center to carry out their research activities. Everyone knows that with research, development and innovation, the conditions are also created to attract new investments. Trisaia must become, in this sense, a lever for development. Today we have once again made this commitment. We will look carefully, both nationally and regionally, at the activities of this Center and will make it an engine of development” concludes Latronico.
