After the positive experience of last season, the sporting summer of Olympic Morbegno was also characterized by the organization of a SUMMER CAMP organized in collaboration with the Serie A sports club PARMA CALCIO 1913.

Morbegno was one of only 5 companies outside of Emilia Romagna selected to host this prestigious event. In addition to Morbegno, in fact only one location in the Marche region, one in Tuscany, one in Sardinia and one in Piedmont received a positive response from the Parma Academy leaders.

Emil Petrelli OM Secretary: “Already last year, on the occasion of the first edition of the Summer Camp, we asked the Parma managers to confirm a new edition for the summer of 2024, even more so after the first Crusader team reached promotion to Serie A we knew that we would have many requests from the Valtellina kids. It really was like this, in a few hours we had halved the availability and in 20 days we ran out of available places…”

The philosophy of the CAMPs organized by Parma Calcio is well defined, few appointments, but of quality with the first-person presence of the technicians who train Parma’s professional youth teams. The aim is to teach football using fun as a means to transmit skills and values that every young footballer should possess. In addition to sporting skills, the SUMMER CAMP also teaches human values, collaboration, trust, courage, patience… You don’t become great footballers just by possessing technique, you need to know how to relate to your teammates and how to “team up” to achieve the objectives together… The objective of a great camp was fully achieved.

There were as many as 60 registered athletes, not only Olympic Morbegno registered athletes, but also several athletes registered for other Valtellina clubs.

DANIELE DI PIETRA, Parma Academy Technical Manager and LUCA RAVANETTI arrived from Parma to manage the camp from a technical point of view. After his experience in U14, this year he led Parma Calcio’s professional U11 team as Head Coach. The two coaches, who despite still being very young, already have a great deal of experience working with the youth sector, spent an entire week in Morbegno managing the boys’ training and daily activities.

When saying goodbye to the boys at the end of the CAMP, Daniele and Luca wanted to thank the families, the Olympic Morbegno company, but also the entire city for the hospitality they found during their stay.

Also present to assist the Parma technicians was the OM staff led by the Technical Manager of the basic activity Fabio Foiadelli and made up of some technicians and some athletes of the company who used the week to learn more about the method with which it is taught in Parma football.

The collaboration between OLYMPIC MORBEGNO and Parma CALCIO 1913 will also continue for the ’24-’25 season with the sharing of an important technical project which will be defined in the coming weeks and will be operational starting from next September.
