We publish below the letter sent to the Magnificent Rector of the University of Calabria by the regional and provincial secretariats of FLC CGIL Calabria and FLC CGIL Cosenza.

There our organization notes that no answers were given by the administration on some issues that require the opening of a discussion and, on others, specific negotiation between the parties as required by the employment contract.

To the Magnificent Rector
University of Calabria

The union FLC CGIL, after several and varied requests addressed to the University’s top management, in expressing total disappointment at your unjustified and incomprehensible silence, asks for mutual respect between the parties and recognition of the role of the union and the RSU as a negotiating delegation; believes it is necessary to remember that the new CCNL provides in various areas not only information, but the opening of a discussion as requested in the last meeting by the acronyms present on the Corporate Reorganization of the Departments, and in other points specific negotiations between the parties for other important topics:

  • PEV for which 0.55% is requested in the first application,
  • smart working,
  • new recruitment notice by 2024 with the application of paragraph 2 of the Madia law,
  • Three-Year Training Plan for the PTAB, as well as the others indicated in the note.

Unfortunately, the FLC CGIL noted the lack of responses regarding:

  • Failure to discuss and inform the trade unions on the PIAO;
  • Unattended response to the note sent on May 17th to the General Director Giancarla Masè prot.n. 0314486;
  • Unattended response to the note sent on 10 June to the General Director Giancarla Masè prot.n. 0332505;
  • Unattended response to the email sent on 18 June to the General Director Giancarla Masè, reported below:

The FLC CGIL, following the invitation email relating to the information on the reorganization of the University which was received only yesterday afternoon, Monday 17 June 2024, communicates that he will not participate in today’s meeting for the following reasons:
– Failure to discuss the reorganization of the Departments with the trade unions;

– Poor notice.

Please note that the FLC CGIL, on 17 May and 10 June, sent two requests to which no response was given.

It is with regret that we note the lack of attention to the rules that regulate relations between the Public Part and the Trade Unions and we hope for a resumption of relations between the Public Part and the Trade Unions, in compliance with the regulations in force.

In light of all this, we ask for an urgent meeting no later than June 30th.

At the same time, we proclaim the state of agitation of all the staff of the University of Calabria.

Best regards

Cosenza, 21 June 2024

Domenico Denaro, Regional Secretary FLC CGIL Calabria
Francesco Piro, Secretary FLC CGIL Cosenza
