When almost half of the sections were counted (26 out of 56) in Caltanissetta in the run-off round for the election as mayor, the centre-right candidate Walter Tesauro was ahead with 55.35% over the centre-left candidate Annalisa Petitto with 44 ,65%. In the capital, the outgoing mayor Roberto Gambino of the M5s, who came third in the first round, had decided not to support either candidate.
In Gela, Terenziano Distefano from the wide field is clearly ahead of Grazia Rita Cosentino from the centre-right. «I am very happy for the success of Terenziano Distefano as the new mayor of Gela.
