A treasure hunt among the historic shops

A Saturday morning, many young and old, eleven historic shops, a map, many clues: these are the ingredients of the success of the treasure hunt conceived and organized by Fanti de Speza with the patronage and collaboration of Confartigianato. The departure at 10 from Piazza Verdi, where the group of organizers, led by Diego Borri, welcomed the participants in the Confartigianato stand. Armando D’Amaro, from the Confartigianato Youth Group, gave all the competitors gift gadgets, such as water, backpacks and maps. The participants, divided into teams, set off in search of the most disparate clues among the historic shops of the centre, to finally reach the hidden “treasure”. The certified centenary companies involved were: Bedini pharmacy, Melley Calzature, Coltelleria Tei, La Pia, Ristorante Sevieri, Cartolibreria Castagnasso, Cintoi, Gioielleria Scardigli, Bar Terrile, Cartoleria Bertini, l’Inferno.

The winners of the hunt were awarded by Diego Borri, Giuseppe Menchelli, Pierluigi Peracchini and Marco Frascatore with recognition plaques and vouchers to be used in participating shops. This first edition of the treasure hunt was won by the team led by Emanuele Giovinazzo, followed by the team of Giulia Borgiani and Davide Ciucci. “Promoting and enhancing knowledge of centuries-old commercial and artisan activities, this was the aim of the initiative – comments Diego Borri, President Fanti de Speza – our association wants to defend the ‘treasures’ of the historic centre. Passing down the secrets and art of local craftsmanship from generation to generation, the attention to detail, the know-how of doing business, to live for a hundred years and even more”. “

It was a beautiful event, we are happy to have sponsored it, the energy of the Fanti de Spezia involved us – commented Giuseppe Menchelli, director of Confartigianato – an apparently simple format that was liked by operators and participants, as Confartigianato we want to welcome and experiment with the ideas of young people to renew and make the trade of the historic center increasingly dynamic”. “The history of our city is important – concludes the Mayor of La Spezia, Pierluigi Peracchini – it is made up of events, characters but also historic companies and families who have contributed to the economic well-being of the area, Diego and the Fanti de Speza did well in think of an event like this in La Spezia.”
