The official presentation of the new sporting director of Lucchese Claudio Ferrarese was held today in the press room of the Porta Elisa. Presentation that arrived exactly one week after its officialization. In addition to the DS, Bruno Russo was also present on behalf of President Bulgarella. It was the person in charge of the Rossoneri youth sector who spoke: “I’ll start by saying that Lucchese is a strong club. Both the press and the fans will have to rest assured: when the championship starts, we will have a competitive team”.

Ferrarese began by talking about his first week with the Rossoneri: “In recent years I have followed the Lega Pro and I can say that I have a good knowledge of the category. I have an annual contract and, having been here for just seven days, I have had little time to work , but I will work ten hours a day to build a team that gives satisfaction to the entire environment and to the company that has placed its trust in me. I start again from a solid base which is Mister Giorgio Gorgone and his staff. For me this is one thing very important, I think that Giorgio is a great coach and a great person with a competent staff with whom we will try to improve everything that was done last year.”

The new sporting director has already set himself some objectives: “Today we have 12/13 players in the squad, we will need the same number. Of the players under contract, some will leave. With the official start of the transfer market we will have a more precise picture”.

Ambitions that certainly conflict with what was declared by president Bulgarella: “The president, like me, has great enthusiasm. I will try to do my best, without however saying that we will win the championship. I will do everything to bring the team to the top, however you have to be realistic.”

Lucchese who risks arriving at training camp with a team that is still incomplete: “I haven’t spoken to the owners about the budget I will have available for the transfer market. We will go into training camp with a team that is still incomplete, I have to be honest: we will get some players later. My desire is to build a long-term project, trying to sign and enhance the players we own. Our team will be made up of many young people, with some experienced players also coming in. We will also look carefully at Serie D and to the Primavera championship”.

Ferrarese also focused on possible transfers: “Everyone is important, no one is indispensable. I will not oppose the players who want to leave Lucchese. There is certainly a need for time to plan.”

The Rossoneri sporting director also took stock of the young players who have worn the Lucchese shirt this year on loan: “With Angelozzi we talked about the possible return of Cangianiello. The midfielder will leave for training camp with Frosinone, I don’t know if he will return Furthermore, we will also try to bring Yeboah back to Lucca, which will not be easy at all.”
