Naples. A precautionary custody order in prison, issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, was carried out by the State Police against two men, father and son, accused of aggravated robbery against a jewelery representative.
Last April 11, in Naples, DPL, 65 years old, and DPA, 47 years old, riding a scooter, approached the representative’s car stopped at the traffic light in via Marchese Campodisola.
DPA, after breaking the car window, pointed a gun at the representative and took away his backpack which contained emeralds and diamonds worth around 450 thousand euros, as well as around 10 thousand euros in cash.
The two robbers then fled against traffic along Via Cristoforo Colombo. The entire robbery lasted only a few seconds.
The investigations of the flying squad
The investigations, conducted by the Naples Flying Squad and coordinated by the Neapolitan Prosecutor’s Office, made it possible to identify the two responsible thanks to the analysis of footage from public and private surveillance cameras, telephone records and cellular traffic, as well as interception activity .
The searches and seizures
Personal and local searches were also carried out on DPL and DPA, as well as on 5 other men suspected of having facilitated the concealment of the stolen goods. Cash, valuable objects believed to be proceeds of crime and a false identity document were found and seized.
DPL and DPA are now in prison awaiting trial. The State Police operation made it possible to bring those responsible for a serious crime to justice and to recover part of the stolen goods.
