ROVIGO – The Rovigo swimming pool will finally be able to reopen. The Municipality has decided to entrust the management of the swimming center to the Ferrara managers of Pool 4.0. The commission responsible for evaluating the two offers received at Palazzo Nodari announced its decision this morning, Monday 24 June. Led by the municipal procurement manager, Marco Plechero, the responses arrived to the requests for clarification which had come from Palazzo Nodari to the companies involved, namely Rhodigium swimming and Ferrarese Pool 4.0.

The former managers of Rhodigium were excluded due to shortcomings or inconsistencies. The city will now be able to swim again in the Viale Porta Po facility.

THE DEBTS

Other elements, however, are important to underline, especially in the difficult relationship between the municipality and Rhodigium Nuoto itself. The latter managed the viale Porta Po complex from when it was opened in April 2009 to its closure for works on 31 January. However, works began in March and closed at the end of May as regards the internal part, from the technical systems to the pools and much more, while in the external area, the play pools connected to the slides are underway, which are expected to be finished by mid-July . When the swimming center was closed at the end of January, there was the ouster of Rhodigium which was also in business under extension, but also with controversy over the fact that there were not even acts from the Municipality that sanctioned this continuation of the relationship. Palazzo Nodari, moreover, has started a legal dispute against Rhodigium itself with the request for 2.5 million which would not have been paid by it to Veneto Nuoto, the consortium that built the facility and went bankrupt, with the consequence that the debts incurred with the banks for the construction of the swimming center fell on the Municipality.
