Today, June 24, 2024is celebrated on patron saint of the city of Monza, Saint John. A series of ceremonies, guided tours and extraordinary openings are planned which will involve all citizens. A unique opportunity to rediscover the cultural, historical and landscape heritage of the city.

The day will begin at 10.30am with Holy Mass in the Cathedral. Following this, at 12.00, under the porticoes of the Arengario in Piazza Roma, the traditional ceremony of awarding the city’s merits will be held, the Giovannini d’Oro.

Guided tours and extraordinary openings

Patron Saint’s Day will also be an opportunity to explore the cultural treasures of Monza. The Civic Museums will be open from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 18:00. At 3.30pm, the guided tour “On the trail of Saint John” will illustrate the works preserved in the museum that tell the story of the saint’s life, ending in Piazza del Duomo. The spaces of the Villa Reale will be open to the public. Visitors will be able to explore twenty-eight rooms rich in history and contemporary art of the “Contemporary Palace” project. It will also be possible to visit the traveling exhibition “The Traveling Palace” at the Saletta Reale of the Monza and Milan train stations and at the Palazzo Reale in Milan.
