The regional union, alongside its colleague Marina Turco, was the victim of “an embarrassing and unacceptable post”, “full of sexism and bad taste” towards “an esteemed and appreciated professional”.

This is what we read in a note from Assostampa Sicilia published on Friday 21 June 2024 also on the website of the regional union.
«Indeed – the Association insists – there is an incredible invitation to replace the colleague with a younger and more beautiful journalist, using the hateful practice of ‘body shaming’ towards a woman who correctly carries out her duty to inform on a daily basis. ».
For the Sicilian Press Association “all this is unacceptable and in addition to giving its total solidarity to Marina Turco, the journalists’ union adds alarm and concern for the unjustified attack against those who provide information in a particularly difficult moment” .
