AND’ Ron’s summer tour started from Calabriaby title “Like an arrow at the bottom of the heart”. Over five thousand people packed the Open-air theater of the Florense Abbey of San Giovanni in Fiore, also invading the adjacent squares and streets. Strongly desired in the splendid tourist resort of Sila in Cosenza by the mayor Rosaria SuccurroRon enchanted the overflowing audience for over two hours with many of his hits.

The event was organized for the Municipality by Show Net of Ruggero Pegna as part of the Fatti di Musica exclusives, his Festival-Award for the Best Author Lives. Although it was the first date of the tour produced by International Music and Arts which will take him far and wide across our peninsula, we immediately felt the feeling of the historic singer-songwriter with the band of exceptional musicians who will accompany him live: Giuseppe Tassoni (piano and keyboards), Roberto Di Virgilio (guitars), Roberto Gallinelli (bass), Matteo Di Francesco (drums) and the talented Stefania Tasca (choirs, percussion and guitar), with whom he performed various duets.

One success after another

Ron has performed many of the pearls of his enormous discography, contained in 26 albums, among the most beautiful in the art scene, from the timeless I would like to meet you in a hundred years, with which he won the Sanremo Festival paired with Tosca, to Anima, a song with which he won a Festivalbar, through Chissà se lo sai, up to the very famous A city to sing, We don’t need words, At the center of music, The giant and the little girl, Piazza Grande, What will be.

In the new setlist, Ron has included some songs and covers rarely performed live, such as For this night that falls down (from the 1983 album Calypso), as well as the wonderful Italian versions of two world hits, Hai capito o no (I can’ t go for that by Daryl Hall & John Oates) and Wounds and Tears (You, by Ten Sharp), and What I’ll Do (cover of Lonely Boy by Andrew Gold).

The big finale

At the end of the concert, called back to the stage by a genuine ovation, he greeted his audience with a rousing version of Joe Temerario, sung by the entire theatre. Between one song and another, he also gave fascinating anecdotes and memories of his long career, in particular of his friendship with Lucio Dallaalso telling how a timeless success like “Piazza Grande” was born.

The evening opened with greetings from Mayor Succurro, visibly moved by the enormous presence of people. An extraordinary success for a quality choice that garnered everyone’s enthusiastic appreciation. At the end, with great availability and affability Rosalino Cellamare gave autographs and photos to the numerous fans who flocked to the back stage, in an exciting and unforgettable night.
