Ten days for the evaluation of the objective parameters, two long meetings of the Technical Commission, two meetings of the Board of Directors. It is the intense work carried out by Ticino Olona Foundation to analyze the 101 local projects presented to obtain funding for these 44 were approved for the Legnano area. The one to draw the balance is the president Salvatore Forte who, on Friday 21 June, commented: «It took a long time to solve the puzzle linked to the 101 projects presented in the 4 calls for tenders this year and to try to achieve the best possible distribution given the starting gap between the requests (approximately 590,000.00 euros) and the available budget (390,000.00 euros). All this while trying not to penalize anyone and prevent any cuts from jeopardizing the quality of the projects and their feasibility.”
Forte then specified «fortunately the greatest gap was concentrated above all in the culture tender so the first decision taken by the Board of Directors was to transfer any savings to the other 3 culture tenders. Furthermore, it was decided that, as a rule, financing would not be granted on two projects to the same entity whether it was the lead partner or only a partner”.
Some exceptions were made for the speakers given the generally small contribution they were entitled to with call 1. In this way it was It is possible to make contributions to 95 projects, out of the 101 presented, with this territorial distribution: 44 projects approved for the Legnano area; 18 projects approved for the Castano area; 9 projects approved for the Magento area; 14 projects approved for the Abbitense area; 3 projects concerning the Legnano-Magentino areas; 1 project concerning the Abbitense-Magentino areas and 6 projects covering the entire territory.
«In the end, therefore, there were few unfunded projects and even fewer entities that did not receive contributions – explained Forte -. It was not an easy job but the result achieved satisfied all the councilors and therefore we hope to have done the best possible in the given conditions.
Ultimately 95 projects (some new, some innovative, others in continuity with the work of previous years) are activated in the territory of the Ticino Olona Ente Filantropico Community Foundation making the work of the many organizations a little easier and certainly more concrete cwho care, in various ways, for others. We are happy to be able to partially support them in their laudable commitment, because every initiative, large or small, is able to contribute to improving the overall well-being of a community.”
