Despite the official closure of the academic year, the activity of UNITRE of Modica does not stop.

Recently, the association organized a visit to the Greek theater of Syracuse to attend the comedy “Miles Gloriosus” by Plautus.

This show is part of the fifty-ninth season of classic plays.

The comedy, originally written between the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC, was revisited in a modern version by the director Leo Muscato, with a translation by Caterina Mordeglia. The plot revolves around the abuse of power and the transformation of a victim into a bully, developing through misunderstandings and deception. The protagonist, Paola Minaccioni, leads an all-female cast, with scenes set in a chaotic and noisy camp, commanded by the braggart and boaster Pirgopolinice.

For the members of UNITRE of Modica, this was an excellent opportunity to share a moment of sociality and culture, strengthening the sense of community within the association.

Ongoing initiatives and projects

UNITRE’s activity continues with various charitable initiatives. The collection of medicines offered by members, intended for the needy in Madagascar, is underway. Furthermore, the association has joined the photographic exhibition “lei È donna”, promoted by the Luce Iblea association, in which numerous UNITRE members participate.

Upcoming Unitre events

Another event not to be missed is the concert of the UNITRE choir of Modica, which will be held on June 27th at 8pm at the Cathedral of San Pietro. This event is part of the program of celebrations of the city’s patron saint.

UNITRE of Modica continues to be a point of reference for the community, offering opportunities for cultural growth and solidarity.
