The legislative assembly of the Marche has made some adjustments to the regional law on hunting.

It’s not just discussed in Rome: given the way hunting is configured in Italy it is inevitable that every now and then action is also taken at a regional level; the latest update concerns the law that regulates it in the Marche region.

In fact, in the 152nd session the legislative assembly approved a series of changes at the regional law 7/95combining with some formal interventions (it was necessary to adapt to the new legislation, both on the powers passed from the Provinces to the Region, and on wildlife control) a series of passages that directly affect hunters.

The main one concerns the deadline for renewing the ATC registration, no longer by June 30th but from June 1st to December 31st; to those who slip away in the second semester, the management committee has the right, therefore not the obligation, to apply a significantly reduced increase compared to the past: it was 10% if paid by July, 50% in the following months; is reduced to a maximum of 5%.

With the management of Atc also have to do with the amendments on the mandate of the president (maximum two consecutive; it does not matter whether they are complete, six months in office are enough to consider them as such) and on any inertia or non-compliance: the warning from the Region initiates a procedure which, in the absence of effective responses within sixty days, leads to the appointment of a commissioner.

The minimum distance from a fixed stakeout to build another increases (and the authorization number must be indicated on the outside): no longer three hundred, but five hundred meters from the main shed.

Furthermore, the law now specifies that the introduction of wild fauna can be delegated to volunteer guards, that in the event of sanctions the suspension of the hunting card lasts twelve months, that the owner or handler must communicate every year that he intends prohibit hunting on one’s land (has until 31 December), that the wildlife-hunting plan remains in force until the next one has been approved and that, subject to the manager’s consent, the Region can authorize dog trials in wildlife reproduction centres.

Finally, it opens up to the liberalization of the use of thermal and night vision goggles in wildlife control operations and in selective wild boar hunting.
