Coach Pippin’s Eagles fly to the final and on Saturday evening, playing an excellent match, clearly won beat the Brescia Bengals and earned the first of the two places available for the Silverbowl on July 6th in Ravenna.

The Este family took to the field with grit and determination right from the first actions of the game, easily moving the ball into attack, and with the defense stopping every offensive attempt for the entire first quarter. The Eagles started attacking immediately with ‘Willo’ Scaglia, serving Gardinale in depth and then Bindini, who brought the ball into the end zone for the first Este advantage with Romagnoli, who added the additional point in the conversion.
It’s up to the Bengals to respond but coach Gordon’s defense immediately stops the Brescians and the Eagles soon return to the attack from their own 30 yards with the runningback Cappellini who, between receptions and runs, brings the Este attack into opponent territory, and with Ghironi who receives Scaglia’s pass in the end zone for the 14-0 after Romagnoli’s conversion. A couple of runs by Franco and Cappellini bring the Eagles back to the red zone. It was Cappellini himself who closed the drive with a nice run that gave the Eagles a 21-0 lead after the conversion.
The first quarter is difficult to digest for the Bengals, who already find themselves having to chase with a wide point gapbut the hosts try and with good aerial play and a couple of fouls from the Eagles they get to score with the quarterback Tinti serves Grespan, and after Bianchini’s conversion the hosts take the lead 21-7. The Bengals try to immediately recover the ball with an on side kick, but the Este special team keeps good guard and the Eagles can thus start again from their own 40 yards with Capitozzo, Giuliano and Nadj.
They make up for it under the Bengals but an amazing Bindini deployed in defense he intercepts the oval and closes the door again on the home attack, with the teams going into the long break ready to battle in the second half. Third quarter with the Bengals still in difficulty against the Ferrara defense, and the Este attack being well contained by the home team who actually intercepted a pass from Scaglia, and with the defender Viviani bringing the ball directly back into the end zone for the 28- 14. It seems that the game can be reopened for the Bengals, but on the next kick off the Este native Capitozzo returns the ball to mid-field and Scaglia entrusts the oval to Nadj who, with a good run, immediately scores a touchdown.
There however, the signature is annulled for a foul by the Eagles and, with the last quarter of the match starting, Nadj goes back to running, sowing panic in the opposing defense right into the Brescia red zone from where Scaglia once again ends the practice with a personal action which is worth another 7 points after Romagnoli’s transformation. The Eagles fly to a now difficult to recover 35-14. The Estense defense returns to stop the Brescia attack, forced to go all out on every drive, with the Eagles taking advantage of this by recovering the ball on Brescia’s 30 yards.
Romagnoli takes the offensive drive on his shoulders with two excellent runs, which take him to the end zone for the last touchdown of the game, to which Romagnoli himself adds the additional point for the final 42-14. Room for the reserves on the pitch for the Este team in the last minutes until the final whistle, which takes the Eagles to the final of the Ifl 2 championship for the second time in a row. With two weeks’ time it will be possible to recover from various injuries, and the team should be complete in view of the big ball on 6 July which will see the Este team face Pirates Savona, who gained access to the final by beating Vipers Modena by 29- 26.
