Yesterday evening, Saturday 23 June 2024, the anti-fascist festival “This is the flower” took place in Modica, in Piazza Campailla.
Giovanni Fiore opened the evening with SynThesi, sounds and voices of resistance. The participants gave interesting and valuable ideas. Giovanni Di Rosa, of the Virgilio Failla School of Political Training, recalled the assassination of Giacomo Matteotti by the fascists. Andrea Gentile, ANPI Ragusa spoke about the normalization of increasingly disturbing fascism.
Paola Ottaviano, lawyer, spoke about migration policies, litmus tests of increasingly crushed human rights.
Peppe Scifo, secretary of CGIL Ragusa spoke about victims at work, used as below-cost resources to increase profits.
Lucia Muscetti, European Federalist Movement, specified how Europe must learn to make a qualitative leap in choosing to move in the direction of Peace.
Andrea Giorgis, Senator of the PD, warned about the risks of the Premiership and the loss of sovereignty and decision-making freedom of every citizen. DJs Andrea Marchese and Saverio Puccia closed the evening
