After the first round on 8 and 9 June, Sunday 23 and Monday 24, there will be run-off elections in various Italian municipalities including: Bari, Campobasso, Florence, Perugia and Potenza. At 12pm the turnout was 12%. At 7pm by 27.8%. Finally, at 11pm, 37%.

The turnout at the closing of the polls on the first day of voting for the municipal elections was 37%. This is a lower figure than that recorded two weeks ago, when at the end of the first day of voting 53.2% of those entitled to vote had gone to the polls.

UPDATE – At 7 pm, the turnout for the run-off round of the municipal elections was 27.9% of those entitled to vote. This is a decreasing figure both compared to the first round and compared to the elections five years ago. The figure for Bari still stands out, where only 18.5% of voters voted. However, the number of voters in Perugia increased compared to the first round (38.1% voted at 7pm), while in Florence the turnout stopped at 28.7%.

Today, Sunday 23 June 2024, we vote for i ballots in several Italian cities after the first round of the municipal elections on 8 and 9 June. In many municipalities, voters will therefore be called to the polls again to choose the mayor and renew the municipal council. The polls are open today from 7am to 11pm and tomorrow, Monday 24th, from 7am to 3pm.

Among the large cities, there are five regional capitals facing a second round: Bari, Campobasso, Florence, Perugia and Potenza. At 12 the voter turnout was barely 12%. This is a very low figure, a general trend that concerns almost all of the municipalities involved. In the first round, participation was 22.8%. The next data on voter turnout in the municipalities in the run-off will arrive at 7pm and then at 11pm, before the polls close. Tomorrow, when the polls close at 3pm, the counting of ballots will begin and the first projections with the results will arrive.

In Bari the turnout at 11pm was 29%

At 11pm Bari participation in the second round for the election of the mayor of the Apulian capital was 29%. In the city, the dem Vito Leccese and the centre-right candidate Fabio Romito are competing in the run-off. In the first round Leccese had received 47% of the votes, while Romito had stopped at 29%.

Campobasso, at 11pm 36% went to vote

TO Campobasso data on voter turnout show a turnout of 36% at 11pm. In the Molise capital, Aldo De Benedittis for the centre-right and Maria Luisa Forte for the centre-left face each other in the second round. In the first round they obtained 48.3% and 31.8% respectively.

Florence in the run-off: turnout at 35% at 11pm

Also to Florence today we vote for the runoff. At 11pm there was an electoral turnout of 35%. Competing for the seat of mayor are the candidate of the Campolargo Pd-M5s, Sara Funaro, and the former president of the Uffizi Eike Schmidt, for the centre-right. In the first round the Democratic candidate received 43% of the votes, while Schmidt stopped at 33%.

In Perugia the turnout figure at 11pm is 46%

In the Umbrian capital, at 11pm the turnout was 46%. On the ballot a Perugia the Campolargo candidate Vittoria Ferdinandi and the centre-right candidate Margherita Scoccia are competing. The first round was a head-to-head between the two: Ferdinandi received 49%, Scoccia 48%.

Potenza, in the second round the turnout at 11pm is 40%

TO Power at 11pm the voter turnout was 40%. The voters of the Lucanian capital will go to the polls to choose between the two candidates in the run-off: Francesco Fanelli, for the centre-right, and Vincenzo Telesca for the centre-left. On 8 and 9 June, in the first round Fanelli had come close to 40%, followed by his Democratic rival, at 32%.
