Cia Abruzzo expresses “deep regret and amazement at not having been invited to the recent work of the Agriculture commission regarding the Abruzzo arrosticino, an identifying product of our region”.
“As a representative of approximately 9,500 Abruzzo farmers and breeders, with an association base that probably includes the majority of the region’s sheep producers, Cia Abruzzo believes that it should have been involved in such an important and strategic initiative for the future of this product” , says the Abruzzo section of the Italian Farmers Confederation in a note.
“The Arrosticino Abruzzo – he continues – is a gastronomic excellence recognized at a national and international level. Its protection and valorisation require a common commitment on the part of all the actors involved, including the Abruzzo farmers who, with their experience and dedication, play a fundamental role in the production of the raw material of this typical product”.
“The failure to hear Cia Abruzzo represents a serious gap in the decision-making process relating to the Abruzzo arrosticino – claims the regional president Nicola Sichetti – An important part of the Abruzzo breeding world has been deprived of the possibility of making its own constructive contribution to the discussion and of sharing their proposals for the future of this product. We trust that the Agriculture commission will take into account what it represents and intends to actively involve our organization in all initiatives concerning the agricultural sector and, in particular, the valorisation of typical Abruzzo products”.
