A Crest festival dedicated to circus and fantasy, with eight “tout public” shows, in the renovated outdoor arena of the TaTà Auditorium

TARANTO – Il Crest theater in Taranto offers a summer of “tout public” shows in the renovated summer arena of the company’s headquarters, in via Grazia Deledda, in the Tamburi district, where the eight events of the festival will be held from 25 June to 4 September «In the courtyard at TaTà» for the project «A theater under the chimneys» launched by Crest as part of the pilot actions for cultural welfare and the valorisation of places of culture promoted by the Puglia Region, Department of Tourism, Economy of Culture and Promotion of the Territory, Teatro Pubblico Pugliese – Consortium for Arts and Culture and Arts, Culture and Tourism Center – PACT

«Thanks to this particular regional support – explains the manager of Crest, Clara Cottino – we were able to renovate a part of the pre-existing concrete auditorium in the large green area surrounding the TaTà auditorium and create a new meeting space for children and families”.

Off we go Tuesday 25 June (7.30 pm) with the traveling theater of La Contrabbassa and the fairy tale «Knotty Nonno Noce» created in the form of puppetry, music and comedy by Nicolò Toschi and Luigi Mosso, protagonists of this extravagant tale about life and trust in imagination.

And speaking of oddities, dSunday 7 July (7.30 pm) the Eccentrici Dadarò are arriving with «Incomica», a praise of the art of transformism through the story of two men and a woman, played by the clowns Umberto Bari, Andrea Ruberti and Dadde Visconti, friends-rivals-lovers in motion , between hilarious gags and surprising tricks, towards the common goal of happiness, in a pilgrimage between past and future full of adventures and misfortunes.

Another clown, a bit of a braggart, but also sweet and arrogant, is on the way Friday 12 July (7.30 pm), when Gianni Risola, aka Otto Panzer, will be on stage, expected with his super show in the clothes of an unlikely and mysterious circus, in which the numbers are a real whim.

While Wednesday 17 July (7.30 pm) the Calabrian company Teatrop will propose «A scary snack», a show of disgusting potions and incredible magic with two slightly strange alchemists, the greedy and unhealthy Witch Lucrezia and the friendly and athletic Sorcerer Bartolomeo played by Ada Roncone and Francesco Rizzo, directed on stage by co-directors Pierpaolo Bonaccurso and Greta Belometti.

Instead, the production of the same name conceived and performed by Antonella Ruggiero and Luigi Tagliente of the Giardino delle Lucciole, on stage, refers to a classic of children’s literature, “Anne of Red Hair”, Thursday 25 July (7.30 pm) with the stories of a girl with a great imagination, always ready to transform reality with the bricks of imagination, supported by an unshakable optimism.

In turn, the character played by Ippolito Chiarello in the show «A heart on pedals» directed by Michelangelo Campanale for Nasca Teatri, scheduled Thursday 1 August (7.30 pm).

Then you jump straight to Friday 30 August (7pm) with the «100% rubbish» of Circo Pacco, namely Alessandro Galletti and Francesco Garuti, who bring the world of circus to life in a parodistic way in the role of two eccentric figures and authentic scoundrels, who everyone knows as Frank Duro and Gustavo Leumann.

It closes on Wednesday September 4th (7pm) with the show of puppets, dolls and actors from the Burambò company of Daria Paoletta and Raffaele Scarimobli, who with «Second Pinocchio» present an original transposition of Collodi’s fairy tale revealing, in the surprise ending, how the transformation into a real child of the famous puppet.
