He drives drunk and risks causing a massacre at Monza-Resegone

In fact, shortly after midnight, an absurd accident occurred: a 41-year-old woman, who was a volunteer for the running race, was hit on Provincial Road 342, in the municipal area of ​​Cernusco Lombardone. The traffic light was deactivated but the intersection was controlled by volunteers due to the ongoing race which starts from the Arengario di Monza and reaches Monte Resegone. The volunteer, like the others, regularly wore a reflective bib and the road was well lit, but the man in the Audi A3 hit her and then ran away. After 200 meters from the first accident, a 53-year-old cyclist also hit. Again the man from Torre de’ Busi left without stopping but shortly afterwards he was stopped by the Merate carabinieri. He was so drunk, some witnesses say, that he couldn’t even keep his eyes open. His license was revoked and he was reported to be free on charges of fleeing, driving while intoxicated and failure to help,

The woman was transported by the air ambulance that took off from Como Villa Guardia to the Varese hospital. In the fall she hit her head violently but her life was not in danger. The cyclist who was taken by ambulance to Manzoni in Lecco was less serious.
