London, 23 June 2024 – While Jannik Sinner will be on the pitch in Halle to try to win the title of the German grass event, Lorenzo Musetti he will do the same at the Queen’s tournament in London. After reaching the semi-final in Stuttgart last week (losing to Matteo Berrettini), the native of Carrara was able to do better in England, becoming the protagonist of a ride that took him to the final, where he will face Tommy Paul. It will be the first time on the ATP circuit that our standard bearer and the American will find themselves against each other. The blue is fresh from the success against the Australian Jordan Thompson, KO 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, while the number 13 in the world knocked out his compatriot in the last round Sebastian Korda. Thanks to this result, Musetti became the fourth Italian ever to play at least one ATP final on every surface. In 2022, the class of 2002 reached the final stage in both Hamburg (clay) and Naples (hard). This edition represents the best at Queen’s for Musetti, who participated in the London tournament only last year, when after having got the better of Jan Choinski and Ben Shelton he was defeated in the quarter-finals by Holger Rune with the result 6-4, 7-5.

The match between Musetti and Paul takes place today (Sunday 23 June) on Center Court and will begin at 3pm (Italian time), being played before the doubles final.
