In the flurry of names associated with Fiorentina’s attack in recent days, this morning one final transfer hypothesis takes hold: bringing Giovanni Simeone back to Florence. Two years in Florence for him, 80 appearances, 22 goals and a farewell without too much drama. Simeone doesn’t find space at Napoli and wants to play, which is why a return to Florence becomes increasingly feasible.
De Laurentiis values him at around 20 million, but the Argentine’s position now on the margins of the Napoli project could facilitate the negotiation. Obviously, Antonio Conte’s will will be decisive but to date, there doesn’t seem to be room for him in Napoli’s future. So Fiorentina is ready to step in and strike up a negotiation to bring him back to Florence.
