It’s already been applauded all over the world, but this is certainly a step forward in his already luminous career: Michele Spotti, the thirty-one year old from Cesanese who is establishing himself internationally in orchestral conductingis the protagonist in summer season at the Verona Arena.

The task is up to him directing the famous Turandot in one of the most fascinating places that the world of opera is able to offer today. “I’m really excited about this experience – says Spotti -. I consider it one of the best gifts of my career. Conducting at the Verona Arena is a dream, it comes true in a very particular year given that we celebrate the centenary of the death of Giacomo Puccini. I’ve already been involved in some evenings, others are missing, it’s nice to see that we are obtaining acclaim from the public and critics“.

Cesano, Michele Spotti will direct Turandot: “You have to know how to tame the Arena”

Spotti has no doubts in saying this what struck you most about this experience: “Silence. Feeling the absolute silence of 12 thousand people is an experience that doesn’t happen often in life. You have to be there to understand how exciting it is. Everyone there waiting for the notes, the voices. Fantastic. I tried to take advantage of the advice they had given me, namely the fact that you have to know how to “tame” the Arena between technique and charisma”.

In both aspects the Cesanese orchestra conductor, as insiders well know, has no problems: he is of absolute excellence. “The Marseille experience contributed a lot to my positioning at an international level. A young man with an important role. But also from a technical point of view it gave me the opportunity to tackle many different repertoires. I’m not a conductor with labels, I’m very multifaceted.”

Cesano, Michele Spotti will conduct Turandot: “I like to approach every type of audience”

The future is also bright for him: in September his talent is needed for the inauguration of the famous “MiTo” festival, one of the most important mass events for classical music. “It will be a great experience – comments Spotti -, I like to get closer to all types of audiences. It’s important to get out of the theaters. The Arena also has a pop side that distinguishes me. I am experiencing this fascinating phase of my career with a lot of passion. I try to improve myself, I like not to remain confined to the great Italian composers since I have a weakness for Richard Wagner. And I remember with pleasure my beginnings in Cesano in the Disarò auditorium with small musical ensembles. If today I am at the Verona Arena and around the world, I also owe it to those moments.”
