Equaled by Ceccon’s 24.40 who came second in the same race. The athlete from Brescia: «I’m satisfied, certainly a cent less would have been better»
First place and Italian record equaled in the 50m backstroke for Michele Lamberti at Settecolli. Lamberti swims in 24.40, like Thomas Ceccon, who however comes second in the same race with a time of 24.55. The Brazilian Basseto finishes third.
«I’m very happy – Lamberti comments immediately after the Italian record – Then equaling it is an additional reason for happiness. Maybe a penny less would have been better – he concludes laughing – It was still important to come here and demonstrate that I have made important steps forward”.
Happy too Ceccon commented on Lamberti’s performance with a joke: «I’m satisfied with the time I did. Michele’s record was deserved, of course he had to beat me, what does getting even mean……».
