Women Apu Udine is pleased to announce the hiring of athlete Carlotta Gianolla. Born in Venice on 13 January 1997, a 184cm winger, Gianolla arrives in Udine after a season as a protagonist with the Derthona Basket shirt which culminated with promotion to Serie A1.
Raised in the youth sector of Reyer Venezia, Carlotta made her debut in the top league at just 17 years old with the Venetian team (2014-2015 season). After the experience in Serie A2 with Magika Pallacanestro in Bologna came the call from Kennesaw State University (Georgia) in 2017. In America Gianolla distinguished herself in the basketball field by receiving the “Rookie of the Year” award (award given to the best player at first year) of the Asun Conference. In her second year at college, however, she was included in the best quintet of the season.
Once she returned to Italy, in the 2020-2021 season she stood out in Serie A2 at Nico Basket with over 18 points and 9.4 rebounds on average. These numbers earned him a return to Serie A1 with the Lucca shirt. In the summer of 2022 she signed a contract with Autosped Castelnuovo Scrivia, averaging over 10 points and 6 rebounds in the following two years.
Gianolla wore the Italy shirt with the youth national teams, taking part in the Italian expedition for the Under 20 European Championship (2017). The new Juventus player also received a call-up to the senior national team for the qualifying matches for the 2023 European Championships.
