ANCONA – Dozens of kilos of waste collected, the Archi neighborhood now truly shines. An initiative, today 22 June, promoted by the Plastic Free Marche association, by Slow Food Ancona Conero, by L’Altro Mercatino, with the patronage of the Doric Municipality.
Also taking to the field, among the over twenty volunteers who left from Piazza del Crocifisso to clean up the surrounding streets, was the young political councilor youth and to civic volunteering, Marco Battino. That he was immortalized with the official t-shirt and a pair of gloves on. During today’s morning, 16 kilos of waste were collected, mainly cigarette butts and plastic waste. But also waste paper and cans.
Today (June 22), the clean up started around 9 am and ended after about two hours, at 11 am. Every Saturday morning, el Rio’ de j Archi – as it was renamed in the years by the people of Ancona – turns into a lively market of organic and ecological products.
Also thanks to L’Altro Mercatino, which with its stalls invites people to browse through the tasty beauties of the Marche producers who follow the principles of Slow Food. The association Plastic Free, on the other hand, has been dealing with ecology and environmental protection for years and it is not uncommon to see volunteers at work on beaches, parks and rivers.
