Gela Basket’s desperate attempt to save the project continues. Members are still looking for entrepreneurs willing to support the club financially. The contacts are there, but as of June 22nd there is still nothing concrete. The company is talking with some local and non-local entrepreneurs. However, no agreement has been signed and there is currently no hope that this will happen. There is bitterness among the various members after the appeal launched almost a month ago: the management expected greater interest from the city and local entrepreneurs. Today, however, it is more likely that the project will disappear, even if hopes have not disappeared completely.
However, the company still has time to save the ship: although the deadline for registering the team for the Serie C Sicily tournament expires in early July, the members have until early August to find a new corporate structure. The League has granted this luxury to the Gela club, as it would like to see the first team from the city of Gela take part in the championship as it is considered one of the most important teams in the region. Naturally, if the blue and white company were to find a solution, it would like to close the case as soon as possible, thus avoiding reaching the month of August.
In the meantime, a meeting of members is planned to monitor the situation and we will have to wait for the outcome of this meeting to receive further news. In other times, planning for the next season would have already been started, but today, as there are no suitable resources to do this, it is not possible to draw up a list of things to be completed. In short, there remains a great regret in the Gela household, even if hope is the last to die. The various members of the corporate group will try everything to save the project, but at the moment there is no great possibility that this will happen.
