Felino, shall we go again? Misters Leva and Bertolotti as the first pieces

The existence, even of a football club, is an extremely precarious balancing act, because – as we know – “there is no certainty about tomorrow”. TO Felineafter the vicissitudes of the recent past, there is only one time available to have a future: today.

The long silence that lasted more than a month has suddenly broken: the news is that, having concluded a troubled and conflictual season to say the least, the Rossoblù Sports Group now seems to intend to start again from the championship of Promotion. The last participation was certainly not memorable: 9th place with 47 points proved to be a result below the expectations of a summer ago, but it must be partly re-evaluated due to the off-field consequences – and that will have an epilogue in the competent offices of justice – from which the coming and going of players and staff has arisen in these weeks of the transfer market.
There is nothing left of the Felino that we knew, but in via Galileo Galilei there are still those who intend to keep the club going, maintaining at least a first team that is, in the intentions, young and rampant and which is an expression of “village” football , as it was once understood. This is the idea of factotum Andrea Grullaat this time the manager in charge of the club founded in 1966, which he had joined in 2021 with the role of manager of the goalkeeping area and then, in the following two seasons, became the administrative manager. One man standing of the Val Baganza association, together with the president Concetta SagoneGrulla is studying the project to restart a machine that has abruptly stopped: the model to follow was identified in San Secondowhere the collaboration of a group of friends, between the field and the desk, in just a few years allowed the freshman Fulgor to climb the categories from amateur football in the province to the regional one, settling in the First.

The first step: the choice of the pilot (and co-pilot) of a car which, for the moment, was left without a driver and various mechanics in tow. Although to date the staff of the first team – where only departures and zero arrivals (except formal returns from loans) from the transfer market have been recorded – is a blank sheet of paper to be filled with lots of writing, the profile of thetrainer leads to a name and surname: the first piece has been identified in Luca Leva: born in 1964, lives in Val Baganza, has been stuck since November 2021 when he resigned as coach of Marzolara (First Category). In his career, made up of a lot of apprenticeship between Second and Third Category – on the benches of Carignano, Frontiera70, Scanderbeg and Montebello – and a few sabbatical years, he has never tried his hand at the Promotion, the second level of regional football in which the Felino should (the conditional is mandatory) participate for the fourth year, from 2017 to today. Alongside him there will be another face known to Feline football: that Massimo “Mamo” Bertolotti (born in 1970), former assistant coach at GS Felino in the Second Category (as well as leading the Giovanissimi U14) exactly ten years ago and, more recently, at Carignano during the Bazzarini era. They are the men indicated from which to start again: in the absence of a sporting director (who, at this point, will not arrive, after the unsuccessful attempts with Ganassi And Accountants and put the initial idea back in the drawer Pietranera), they too will have the task of cooperating, with a management group in the process of being formed, to set up a team that is as competitive as possible, with what the market, which has already been underway for some time, will still be able to offer.

A signal has come from Felino, and it’s already something: the GS doesn’t want the ball to stop rolling on the pitch, still of regional level, of the “Ninetto Bonfanti”. And so, albeit with difficulty, he is starting to plan his present, which will inevitably involve a decisive battle off the pitch. The fate is in itself uncertain: redoing the staff from scratch and reaching the level with the registration in the FIGC (expires 21 July, ed.), then represent two more complicated puzzles to solve. It will require a real race against time.
