THEThe Port of Ravenna to be promoted as the Port of Emilia-Romagna, a privileged gateway for commercial connections from China to Europe. Emilia-Romagna, representing the Italian logistics sector, arrives at ‘Transport Logistic China 2024’, one of the most important fairs in the logistics sector of the Land of the Rising Sun, which will take place in Shanghai from 25 to 27 June.

The regional councilor for Transport and Infrastructure Andrea Corsini will present to institutions and operators in the sector the commercial possibilities of the Port of Ravenna, which the dense network of intermodal connections, made up of motorways and railways, make the best hub for transport towards the north Italy and central Europe.

To accompany him on his institutional mission representatives of the Municipality of Ravenna, of the ITL Foundation (Institute of transport and logistics) which promotes the system of intermodal platforms in Emilia-Romagna at a national and international level, and some members of the ERIC regional intermodal cluster: Port Authority of Ravenna, SAPIR Spa (Terminal Operator of the port of Ravenna), TCR- Ravenna container terminal and DP Dinazzano-Po Spa, railway station and logistics platform.

“We aim to become a point of reference for logistics and goods transport from China– comments councilor Corsini -. The Port of Ravenna is included in the short list of European “core ports” and is part of two TEN-T transport corridors, the Baltic-Adriatic corridor and the Mediterranean corridor, which provide for the strengthening of road and railway infrastructures to increase transport rail freight. It can therefore be an easy landing place for goods coming from China, and a starting point for goods towards northern Europe. We will present to the operators of the Chinese sector the strengths of the Port of Ravenna, its great attractiveness which lies both in its strategic position and in its infrastructures, which will be further developed after the approval of the simplified logistics zone by the Government”.

In the large stand of the Region, B2B meetings are planned with about fifteen important Chinese logistics and transport companies, as well as with representatives of the “Logistics” GdL (Distribution & Logistics Group) of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China.

Among Councilor Corsini’s meetings, those with the Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, Tiziana D’Angelo, the Deputy Consul, Alessandra Palumbo, responsible for the commercial part; the ICE director of Shanghai, Augusto di Giacinto, the deputy commissioner for ICE trade, Cinzia Sarli, and with the deputy general director Shen Weihua of the Shanghai Trade Commission.
