Pordenone, creates a totally illegal workshop at home

The Judicial Police Team of the Pordenone Traffic Police Section continues unabated with its administrative monitoring and control activities at car dealerships, mechanical workshops, body shops, car dismantlers, tire dealers and retailers of spare parts for cars and trucks in the province.

In the weeks that have just passed, the agents of the Traffic Police Section of Pordenone, together with the agents of the Police Headquarters, as part of specialist administrative checks, discovered, in a municipality in the Province of Pordenone, an activity of completely illegal garage which was carried out in a private home and whose manager was without any authorization administrative (including registration with the Chamber of Commerce) and the required professional qualification to carry out this activity, as well as failure to comply with fire regulations. Despite the evident condition of irregularity, it was possible to ascertain the presence of a dozen cars (both Italian and foreign) ready to be serviced and others already subjected to ordinary repair work.

Towards the person responsible for this illegal workshopmultiple and heavy administrative pecuniary violations were raised for several thousand euros, as well as for owners of the vehicles who were sanctioned – albeit in a more light way – for having entrusted the maintenance oftheir vehicles to an illegal workshop (prohibited by law); furthermore, the equipment used by the foreign citizen to carry out the illegal activity (including a folding hydraulic crane, compressors, oily materials, technical and engine lifting tools, mechanical spare parts) were seized for subsequent confiscation.

During the complex check, several were found hazardous and non-hazardous waste in the adjacent garden area and a deposit of mechanical material connected to the aforementioned activity, which is why the intervention of specialized personnel from ARPA FVG was necessary with the consequent environmental surveys of the case. At the end of the checks, therefore, the owner of the commercial business – of foreign nationality and resident in the Pordenone area – was reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Pordenone for the crime of abandonment and uncontrolled storage of waste pursuant to the Consolidated Environmental Law.

Furthermore, together with the municipality where the business was located, they were important cadastral and urban planning irregularities of the building used as a workshop were detected, reason for which the owner and manager of the irregular garage were reported pursuant to the Consolidated Law on Construction. Compliance with the regulations related to waste disposal and the regular acquisition of authorizations and licenses are the main checks that State Police agents carry out in the context of these commercial activities, also for purposes of protecting competition from other companies operating in the sector.
