In response to our article and the press note from the Lega group leader Alessandro Messa, we receive and publish the press release from the Councilor for the Environment Andrea Mazza: “The disinfestation intervention, widely publicized in recent days, concerns all the hamlets of the City of Guidonia Montecelio. It is clearly highlighted in the communication, conveyed through the social and institutional channels of the Municipality, that in the vicinity of the inhabited centers of Villalba, Colle Fiorito, Albuccione, La Sorgente and Bivio di Guidonia, the use of mosquito repellents which involve the aerial suspension of the preparations is prohibited through spraying, nebulization, atomization and other similar methods. This is due to the presence in the indicated locations – it is considered useful to underline again – of residents affected by MCS pathology (Multiple Chemical Sensibility). Multiple chemical sensitivity can, as is known, be triggered by environmental factors and causes a series of symptoms for those affected.” However, the question we continue to ask ourselves is whether an alternative solution could be studied to protect both people affected by this pathology and those who will have to live with these insects in the summer due to the lack of aerial disinfestation.
