A student-friendly university, AlmaLaurea also rewards Arezzo

Arezzo, 22 June 2024 – Good employment prospects and an average salary in line with the national figure, after having attended quality, effective and suitable courses for the world of work. It is the photograph of the graduates of the University of Siena and those of the Arezzo branch, taken by the AlmaLaurea report. 2,900 graduates ended up under the microscope. 89.5% of graduates are satisfied with the relationship with the teaching staff, compared to 87.7% of the regional figure, and 85.3% consider the study load adequate for the duration of the course (82% in Tuscany) . Regarding the infrastructures made available by the University, 87.6% who used them considered the classrooms adequate, a figure higher than the Tuscan average of 80.9%. In general, 90.6% say they are satisfied with the university experience as a whole, a higher figure than what was recorded in the region (89.1%). The report also takes employment as a reference. The data on the effectiveness of the degree in work is positive, i.e. the correspondence between the degree obtained and the work performed, on the rise with 9 points of growth from 2021 to today: from 69% one year after graduation achieved last year, the University it rose to 71.5%, while 5 years after graduation the figure grew to 78.4% (71.3% the previous year and +7% compared to 2021). Both values are higher than the Tuscan and national average, with the latter setting respectively at 69.5% at one year and 75.7% at five years.

The percentages for three-year graduates are excellent: on average the employment rate is 77.1%, higher than the average of Tuscan universities (76.9%) and +3% compared to the national figure (74.1%). In this case the average salary is 1,443 euros net per month, compared to 1,419 euros in Tuscany and 1,384 euros in Italy. The trend is similar for those leaving two-year master’s courses, which record a percentage of 77.9%. The employment rate of second level, master’s and single-cycle graduates from the University of Siena is also positive, being 76.3% within one year of obtaining their degree, slightly lower than the regional figure (77.5%) and higher than the national average (75.7%). The frequency of internships among those enrolled in degree courses is still increasing: among three-year graduates, as many as 63.4% have carried out internship activities, compared to an Italian average of under 60% and a regional average of 51.2%; while 66% of two-year master’s graduates have carried out internships during their studies (the Italian average is 63.6% and the Tuscan average is 61.5%). The data is also relevant because the increase in employment opportunities already one year after graduation is consolidated for those who have carried out at least one internship during the course.
