The comparison between the top teams of their respective Serie C groups shows a clear victory for San Lazzaro against Pesaro. A highly technical match where both teams did not hold back, offering a truly compelling challenge to the large crowd who attended the event. After the first two innings with a scoreless score, in the third the red and white team tries to take the lead, but the good defense of the Bolognese manages to block the run to home base of a rediscovered Lorenzo Mordini. In the lower part of the innings came the response from San Lazzaro, who thanks to a defensive error managed to accumulate a three-point advantage. In the following attack, the Pesaro team closed the gap with a sacrifice by Cristiano Crinelli which allowed Diego Albertoni to score. San Lazzaro immediately responds to the point by scoring one of its own. Manager Thomas Iacomucci replaces the exhausted Francesco Marcuccio on the mound, but Micheal Cifalinò’s too fearful departure favors San Lazzaro who continues to increase their lead. The match continues with attempts at a comeback by Pesaro, but San Lazzaro’s careful defense does not falter, effectively closing the match. “There is still a lot of work to be done to improve the performance on the pitch. This defeat encourages us to do better as a united group towards the goal”, this is the comment of manager Iacomucci.
