Andrea Madonna lands in the small parliament of Confindustria. The president of the Pisan Industrial Union has in fact been directly designated by the new president of the Italian industrialists, Emanuele Orsini, to be part of the general council of Confindustria for the next two years. By statute, the role in the Confindustria body falls to those elected by the assembly representing the various size categories of companies and appointed by the territorial associations that pay the highest amounts of association contributions. However, the association’s statute gives the president the possibility to directly appoint six members to the college by choosing them from among “people who are a particularly significant expression of the association system” at a national level. Madonna’s choice falls in this area, underlines a note from the Pisan Industrial Union, “due to her knowledge of numerous strategic business sectors: construction, transport, mechanics, logistics, healthcare, tourism and catering, sport, as well as a strong expertise in finance (Madonna is part of banking advisory boards)”.
“I am grateful to President Orsini – adds the president of Uip – because his choice is the sign of trust and esteem, naturally mutual, which go beyond the strictly personal relationship and which actually cement the very close and profitable collaboration built in last two years within the Fisco technical group of the national Confindustria. Through the new role I will continue to bring to attention issues and requests from the business world of our territory”. Meanwhile, Orsini and the Minister of Labor, Marina Calderone, will be in Pisa on July 11th, together with the national leaders of the trade unions, to participate in the general assembly of the Pisan Industrial Union which will dedicate a focus to the issue of workplace safety. “And this too – observes Madonna – demonstrates how much the UIP believes in the importance of teaming up at every level, even national, for the development of the local economic fabric and to bring its own contribution of ideas”. The general council of Confindustria, concludes Madonna, “is the body of political direction and of connection and coordination between the top management and the associative base and as a Pisan and Tuscan entrepreneur my appointment represents further recognition for Tuscany, after the assignment as vice president with responsibility for the study center of Lucia Aleotti, owner of Menarini”. The last Pisan member of the Confindustria parliament was Pierfrancesco Pacini, when he led the Tuscan industrialists (2012-2017).
