The assembly of the Ferrarese Disability Area Committee renewed, on 29 May, its board of directors which will be operational for the next three years. The Cfad is the coordination of organizations dealing with disabilities in Ferrara and its province. It has been operating in the Ferrara area for 22 years and is active as a unitary interlocutor on issues relating to disability with institutions and other supra-provincial entities to discuss problems and propose topics of interest.

The member associations, while each maintaining their own autonomy, mission and vision, gather forces on common themes that cut across all people. The Cfad is currently made up of and represents 29 associations and 12 individuals. The new members of the board of directors will hold the ranks and will be representatives of topics considered priority, managing working groups open to any interested party.

The new president is Claudio Mari (ALICe Ferrara odv). There are two vice-presidents: Renzo Rimessi (Uici Ferrara Section), who will deal in particular with the rights to autonomy and mobility and Anna Baldoni (Le Passeggiate di Agata Aps) who will deal with schools and association politics. The secretary will be Perini Paola, (Home and Work Aps) who will take care of the life project.

The Councilors and advisors are: Francesca Palazzi (Anffas Ferrara Aps) who will coordinate the actions aimed at implementing the Dama project, for the right to health and access to healthcare services; Silvia Cavicchi (Il Nodo Aps), will coordinate actions for caregivers and their protection; Fausto Bertoncelli (who joins the committee as a natural person) will deal with accessibility, mobility and sport.

There are many priority themes and issues on which the Cfda intends to act, starting from the “new framework law on disability and the implementing decree just published in the official gazette” which “require a great collective effort for change between institutions, citizens and third party bodies sector”.

“The Committee – they add – intends to be an interlocutor and active part of the process of change as recently reiterated in Ferrara in the presence of Minister Locatelli”.
