Roofs uncovered, flooding, many, many trees felled on the roads with firefighters engaged in a tour de force between various municipalities, mainly between the Middle Val Seriana and the Albano area. The bad weather caused damage yesterday evening. In Ponte Nossa, a tornado blew away the roof of the school next to the barracks.
In Albano, the roofing of Bfe srl was damaged. «We heard a roar – says Matteo Sommariva, owner of the neighboring company –, perhaps it was when the whirlwind broke the windows and lifted their cover from the inside, which then flew to the opposite side». The sheets of the roof, falling, broke some electricity poles and broke through a gate. To personally see the damage, the deputy mayor Fabrizio Mologni also went to Via Tonale: “There were some workers at work, but no one was hurt”, he assures. The most serious situation appears to be that in Ponte Nossa, with extensive damage to the school and the roof of an uninhabited house destroyed.
Also in Vertova, the firefighters intervened on the roof of a house. The exchange in via Codussi received calls until after 10pm also about flooded cellars and garages, again in Val Serina, while fallen trees were reported almost everywhere, from Albino to Treviolo and Brusaporto. Electricity cut in Ponteranica and Treviolo. Serious problems were then reported in Ponteranica, near the Teb line 2 construction site: excavations completely flooded and water ending up in the nearby streets, with cars submerged.
