Solmec Rhodigium Basket and Ludovica Tumeo continue their growth path

ROVIGO – The Solmec Rhodigium Basketball confirms the desire to develop young players on a national level. After the successful experiment last season, the Rovigo club announces the confirmation of Ludovica Tumeothe point guard born in 2005 who arrived in Polesine last season.

Ludovica Tumeo arrived at Solmec Rhodigium Basket last season with a “hybrid” role: she would have had important minutes in LBF Serie A2, but at the same time she would have been one of the cornerstones of the Under 19 team. So it was: Tumeo, together with others first team players such as Silvia Martin, Irene Marchetti and Giada Poletto, dragged the red-blue youth team to the first historic national category play-off, which they lost with their heads held high against Cuneo. Despite her prowess at youth level, Tumeo has also demonstrated her value in the first team, carving out an increasingly important role as the matches go by. In her first season in A2, the very young Sicilian winger showed flashes of offensive talent that will surely be repeated next season, when Tumeo will have more space within coach Giulia Pegoraro’s rotations.

Giulia Pegoraro, Solmec Rhodigium Basket coach: “With “Lula” we have started a growth path that will see her increasingly protagonist this year. She will not only be limited to the role of point guard, but we will try to make more productive use of her enormous physicality, in addition to her offensive talent. She will become the sharpshooter and the one who can break the game with her offensive flair. She is a girl with great professionalism and a great desire to grow: there are excellent conditions for working well together.”

Ludovica Tumeo, external Solmec Rhodigium Basket: “I am really happy to be able to continue my journey in Rovigo: I thank the club for their trust in me. I will always give my all to help reach new goals and make everyone who supports us proud. I can’t wait to start this new season and I’m sure we will have fun!”.
