A homocide shook the small community of Vico del Garganoa town of 7,000 inhabitants in the province of Foggia. Davide Mastromatteoa 39-year-old construction worker, was killed from the father in law 60-year-old shot at the height of an argument.
We are looking for the murder weapon
The family drama occurred on the evening of Friday 21 June. Mastromatteo was murdered in his home in Mannarella district, in the industrial area. Victim and alleged murderer lived in the same building.
The rescuers who arrived on site in an ambulance were only able to acknowledge the death. It is not excluded that other family members may also have witnessed the tragedy. The interrogations are ongoing.
Vico del Gargano is located north-east of Foggia. It is called the “Borgo dell’Amore”. It is part of the Gargano National Park and the Gargano Mountain Community.
The Carabinieri are investigating, coordinated by the Foggia prosecutor’s office, who maintain maximum confidentiality on the matter. From the leaked information it seems that the murder weapon is a rifle. The military deduced this from the wounds observed on the body. The weapon has not yet been found.
Who was Davide Mastromatteo
They are not known reasons at the base of the you disagree between the two men. When his work as a worker didn’t involve him, Davide Mastromatteo dedicated his free time to volunteer at the local branch of the civil protection.

“I know both families,” said Mayor Raffaele Scicio speaking with The messenger – they are respectable people, integrated into our community. There had never been any problem. I also know his father-in-law, who retired a couple of years ago and was previously an employee of the regional agency for irrigation and forestry activities. I really don’t know what could have happened.”
