Ulss 5 ensures: no downsizing for the Adria Hospital

ROVIGO – After the question from the Brothers of Italy in the city council in Adria (READ ARTICLE) and the intervention of the regional councilor Elena Ostanel (READ ARTICLE) of Il Veneto che desi, the company ULSS 5 Polesana specifies that with regard to what has been reported regarding the functioning of the single booking centre, it is confirmed that one of the objectives of the CUP is to indicate to the user the closest place in in which to carry out the requested service, within the times indicated by the prescribing doctor.

Furthermore:

  • the institutional activity of the Adria Radiology Service has never been interrupted at any time of the year, nor have booking lists for specific diagnostic activities been blocked.
  • the activity of the Adria Radiology Operational Unit suffered a slight decrease in the summer months, precisely to guarantee the use of holidays for the healthcare personnel who work there, as provided for by the current national collective contracts for healthcare workers; Furthermore, the reduction of activities in the summer period have always been implemented, while still guaranteeing the service to users.
  • it should be noted that in the same period, the availability of the radiologists on duty to perform additional afternoon services, financed with regional funds, was confirmed and guaranteed in order to guarantee control of the waiting lists.
  • in summary, the reduction in external CT exams in the Adria Hospital during the summer period was around 3 or 4 exams per week.
  • as regards the Cardiology Unit of Adria, pertaining to the Complex Operational Unit of Rovigo, whose Director is in service and not retired, a remodulation of the offer of beds, both ordinary and rehabilitation, has been envisaged for the period from 1st July to 15th July, always aimed at the use of the summer holiday periods for the workers of the Operational Unit.

The remodulation of services envisaged by Ulss 5 involves the following phases:

  1. unification of the acute cardiology hospitalizations (10 beds) with the cardiological rehabilitation ones (5 beds), for a total of 10 beds in the cardiology area on the 4th floor (around 7 acute beds and around 3 for cardiological rehabilitation);
  2. occupation of current cardiac rehabilitation hospitalizations with rehabilitation beds and maintenance of rehabilitation beds in the area (13 beds)
  3. The total rehabilitation beds will be 16 in the period (13 + 3 in the cardiology area).

“With the expected reorganization, which will take place starting from the month of July until the first fortnight of September, the number of acute care beds in the Cardiology Unit and the offer of rehabilitation type hospitalization in the Adria Hospital, will remain substantially unchanged, at the same time allowing healthcare personnel to enjoy summer holidays and maintain patient services” specifies the general management.
