PARMA- The final phase of the Italian men’s and women’s sitting volleyball championship is underway, an event organized by the Italian Volleyball Federation with the support of the Fipav Parma coach.
The “Lorenzo Ponti” sports hall in Parma will be the setting and will host the teams that have passed the previous phases on the weekend of 22 and 23 June.
There will be 8 participating teams between women and men who will compete for the 2024 championships. The women’s and men’s tricolor finals will be played with the final four formula. Subsequently, the winning teams of the semi-finals will play the final for first and second place, while the losers will play for the bronze medal.
Last year, again in Parma, the girls of Dream Volley Pisa became Italian champions, while Nola, the city of Gigli, triumphed in the men’s tournament.
The finals of the Italian event, now in its seventh edition, will contribute to giving further visibility to this Paralympic discipline which will experience another historic moment for Italy in the Paris 2024 Games with the second consecutive participation of the Italian team coached by Amauri Ribeiro in the Paralympic Games .
The sitting volleyball finals, organized by the Fipav Parma coach, are part of the convention agreement signed in March 2022 between the Emilia Romagna Region and the Italian Volleyball Federation. Thanks to the three-year agreement, Emilia-Romagna is one of the main locations of federal disciplines with the possibility of hosting, in various capacities, international events and national events.
