Wine and sailing: the Cerasuolo Cup returns to Pescara – News

Pescara. Last hours of training for the over thirty crews participating in the third edition of the Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo Cup – 1st CNP Trophy, regatta for offshore and small offshore sailing boats organized as every year by the Circolo Nautico Pescara 2018 with the support of Consorzio Tutela Vini d’Abruzzo and closely linked to the rosé wine of Abruzzo whose name and color it bears.

The challenge between sails to win the Challenger Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo Cup 2024 starts tomorrow morning, Saturday, from
Marina di Pescara tourist port for the first of the two scheduled days. After the inauguration this evening at 7pm with flag raising and aperitif on the CNP terrace, tomorrow the boats will hoist their sails and head towards Ortona, passing the Francavilla buoy, and then returning towards the finish line in Pescara. The second and final sailing will take place on Sunday, with a coastal route this time northwards to the border with Montesilvano and back.

On the same Sunday afternoon, the 2024 trophies will be awarded to the overall and first place winners
category (Challenger Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo Cup, AUTOSTAR Cup and 1st CNP Trophy). This year, an extra “touch of art” will be added to the event, born from the sailing and Cerasuolo partnership, i.e. an extemporaneous painting by 10 Abruzzo artists from the “Artistic Itineraries” and “Le Muse” associations who throughout tomorrow, after having placed their easels in various corners of the port, they will paint their canvases with brushes and colors on the theme of sea, wind, sailing and…cerasuolo.

I am Angela Di Teodoro, Ercolina Delle Monache, Patrizia Amoretti, Plinio Meriggiola, Rosa Maria Brandimarte, Sabina D’Alfonso, Sabrina Talarico, Stefania Ponziani, Stefano Schiazza, Valentini Vally. Then on Sunday, a painting will be given to the winners of the regattas and at the end of the event, in addition to the trophies.

The day ends in the evening with a convivial dinner for shipowners, crews and friends in the Marina’s “Osea” restaurant where they dine with Cerasuolo from companies linked to the Consorzio Tutela Vini, toast with Abruzzo sparkling wine Vinco and enjoy the dessert offered by the master pastry chef Federico Anzellotti of Emozioni Italiane.
