Via Veneto, residents worried about water problems: “What happens with 40 more families?”

The news of the regional council’s resolution on Via Veneto does not make everyone smile. The deed, which follows the completion of the purchase procedure of the entire property located in Campo dell’Oro through the allocation of the total amount of almost six million euros, does not convince, for example, the inhabitants of the same route. The reason is the lack of water which has been affecting the buildings adjacent to the one at the center of the operation for months now, a problem which according to the citizens who live in the area could worsen further when the thirty-three families who are destined to enter enter the homes. in the building located at number 24.

“We are in a disastrous, third world situation – say the citizens – with a trickle of water coming out of our taps. Boilers don’t start or lock out, as do many household appliances. Our requests to Ater and the municipality fall on deaf ears. If these families arrive here, they will find themselves in the same situation as us and the problem will increase for everyone, given the greater consumption that will inevitably occur. We are exasperated at not having water and after the news we have read, also worried about having to spend an entire summer completely dry.” The idea of the regional council is that through the purchase of the property it will be possible to safeguard the investment already implemented by the Ater of Civitavecchia and give a great boost to the completion of the three financings of the Complementary Fund to the PNRR relating to seismic improvement and energy efficiency of the buildings in Via XVI Settembre, Viale Guido Baccelli and Viale Guido Baccelli, through the temporary transfer of the thirty-three families still present in the properties subject to the interventions and subsequently increasing the supply of social housing, contributing to reducing housing hardship.
A choice which, however, according to the Tenants Union association, is not feasible given that Ater should allow the assignment of the 40 accommodations to those entitled according to the ranking, and at the same time find adequate accommodation for the assignees of Viale Baccelli and Via XVI Settembre .
