A person was hit by a train and died at Maddaloni station, in the province of Caserta. The train accident occurred around 3.30 pm today, Friday 21 June 2024. The Polfer arrived immediately on site and is conducting the relevant investigations. Footage from video surveillance cameras in the area was also acquired. It is not excluded that it could have been a suicide, but at the moment any hypothesis is premature. Trains between Caserta and Foggia are currently suspended.

Trenitalia has informed that on the “Caserta – Foggia line: from 3.40 pm railway traffic suspended between Caserta and Foggia due to the collision of a person by a train”.

From 3.40pm on the Caserta Foggia line train traffic has been suspended between Maddaloni and Caserta due to a train hitting a person. The competent authorities are present on site to carry out the necessary investigations.
