Four days full of events for the new edition of the International Trani Tango, the event that from 11 to 14 July will make the city of origin of the tango legend Astor Piazzolla shine in the eyes of the world.

The masters Daiana Guspero, who arrived in Trani for the presentation press conference, and Miguel Angel Zotto will once again be the artistic directors of the event, irreplaceable pillars and among the stars who have contributed to giving prestige to the festival born in Astor’s city of origin Piazzolla, father of modern tango, by will of the organizers Claudia Vernice and Giuseppe Ragno (ASD InMovimento) who, starting from the desire to give the right honor to the Argentine musician, managed to be included in the Great Events of the Puglia Region, attesting to the growth of the event both on the cultural front and on the numbers front.

“The artistic level is very high again this year” begins Guspero, who adds “eight pairs of professional masters protagonists of highly anticipated seminars in the afternoon and then concluding the evenings with wonderful performances which attract great participation every year, we have some of the names most important on the international scene both in dance and in orchestras”.

“We had the honor of hosting Astor Piazzolla several years ago and having him visit his grandparents’ home in the historic center” recalls Lucia De Mari, Councilor for Culture of the city of Trani, “this event is a beautiful way to pay homage to him”.

The ten years of festival celebrated last year also coincided with the start of a partnership with Mar de Plata, Piazzolla’s hometown, so much so that Pipi Piazzolla was brought to Puglia with the collaboration of Enit, Astor’s nephew, ambassador of that tourism of roots which gives the magic of a journey to discover the past family history, ideally passing the baton to 2024, declared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation the Year of Italian roots

New this year is Tango on tour on Saturday 29 June in Margherita di Savoia, which will host the first traveling stage of the event with a free milonga in Piazza Libertà starting from 7pm with tj Francesco Azzollini, and the free tango therapy event with the support of Lilt. Great anticipation with the Tango Passion show scheduled for July 9th from 9pm in the fascinating Santorsola courtyard of Palazzo Beltrani. And finally the aperitango on Friday 12 July and Saturday 13 July on the port of Trani with free milonga and the performance of the absolute Italian champions of Argentine dances, Giuliano Gambarelli and Vittoria Zoffoli and Pietro Greco and Giulia Bass.
