The Services Conference gathered at the headquarters of the Lombardy Region gave a favorable outcome to the PAUR – Single Authorization Provision for the extension of the M5 underground line to Monza.
“It’s good news for one of the projects to which we are dedicating the utmost attention here in the city – commented Mayor Paolo Pilotto today – knowing that the seven stops planned will contribute to designing a new face for Monza.
The works should begin in 2025 and have a duration of 7 years: “In the coming months we plan to define in greater detail the surface interventions relating to the areas around the seven Monza stops – confirms Pilotto – Furthermore, compensation has been discussed with the various parties environmental, in particular rows of trees along major roads, cycle paths, pavements and car parks”.
The M5 construction sites, in fact, will occupy approximately 50 hectares, of which 70% of agricultural area: 20 hectares will be used to build the M5 depot in the Casignolo agricultural area.
The timetable of the seven stops. Last month the Mayor illustrated an initial timetable to the City Council: 1,200 days of work for the construction of the Monza-Casignolo depot; 1,550 days of work for the Campani station; 1,870 days of work for the Monza Fs station; 1,475 for the Marsala station; 1,744 for the Trento and Trieste stations; 1,460 for the Monza Brianza station; 1,470 days of work for the Parco Villa Reale station; 1,348 days of work for the San Gerardo hospital station.
“In this year and a half of work and meetings, the particular commitment of the Administration has been dedicated on the one hand to safeguarding the integrity of the city ahead of the realization of the work and on the other to avoiding in any way any possible delay in design phases”. The Mayor thanks the constant work ensured by the Mobility Department and the municipal technical and administrative structure that followed the detailed process.
