Ancona is transformed into a film set

From June 24th, Ancona will be transformed into a film set, hosting the filming of the film “You and I must speak”, directed by Alessandro Siani. The film, which stars Siani himself and Leonardo Pieraccioni, is a production of Italian International Film in collaboration with Rai Cinema. Produced by Fulvio and Federica Lucisano, it will be distributed by 01 Distribution.

Data and Places

The story of the film will take place in the most evocative places of the city, with 38 days of production and the use of 500 extras. The filming will involve Marina Dorica, various streets of the center and surrounding areas including Piazza San Francesco, Piazza del Papa, Piazza della Repubblica, Corso Mazzini, the Passetto lakes, the Archaeological Museum, some shops and several private homes and villas. Other locations have been identified in Jesi, Numana and Osimo.

“It will be a great opportunity for the city of Ancona, which will be able to show itself with its beauties and its most enchanting corners” declared the Tourism councilor, Daniele Berardinelli. “The film, released in theaters during the Christmas period, will bring the image of the Dorica to the big screen, contributing to the promotion of the city. Ancona has already been the setting for iconic cinema scenes and this further event will constitute a boost for film tourism, a growing sector which can represent an element of development and growth for our city as an experiential destination. Film productions, during inspections in the city, have underlined how the landscape, the monuments and the suggestive views of Ancona are ideal natural sets for. the filming, easily conveyable on social media, thus promoting both the films and the image of the city itself”.

Changes to the road network

To better organize traffic and facilitate film shooting, the Local Police Command has issued an ordinance with some temporary limitations on parking and transit, as well as changes to local public transport. In particular, the following routes will be affected:

  • VIA VALLEMIAMO FORMER SLAUGHTERHOUSE (22 June 2024, 08.00 – 7 August 2024, 18.00):

    • No parking and stopping in a portion of the car park and on the exit ramp.
    • Traffic ban for all vehicles, except those of the crew.
    • Establishment of two-way traffic on the entrance ramp to the car park.
  • VIA CARDUCCI (June 24, 2024, all day):

    • No parking and stop on the left side from Via Magenta to Piazza Roma.
    • Ban on vehicular traffic, except vehicles headed for the Court of Appeal and the Financial Police.
  • GARIBALDI COURSE (between Via Marsala and Via Leopardi), ROME SQUARE fountain side, MAZZINI COURSE (between the Calamo Fountain and Via Benincasa) (24 and 25 June 2024, all day):

    • Interdiction of vehicular and pedestrian traffic to allow filming.
  • REPUBLIC SQUARE (28 and 29 June and 2 July 2024, all day):

    • No parking and stops in front of the RAI building, including disabled stalls (relocated near the Teatro delle Muse).
    • Prohibition of parking and stopping in the taxi area and TAR car parks (relocated near the Teatro delle Muse).
    • Ban on vehicular traffic for short periods during filming.
  • VITTORIO EMANUELE SCALO (28 and 29 June and 2 July 2024, all day):

    • Prohibition of parking and stopping in the entire area intended for parking motorcycles and mopeds (temporarily designated as a taxi area).
  • VIA XXIX SEPTEMBER (28 and 29 June and 2 July 2024, all day):

    • No parking and stop on the right side in the direction of Via Marconi for 10 parking spaces, except for production vehicles.
  • VIA GRAMSCI (2 July 2024, 08.00 – 20.00):

    • Interdiction of vehicular traffic to allow filming at the intersection with Corso Mazzini.
    • Pedestrian transit prohibited during filming.
  • VIA PIZZECOLLI (between Via Bernabei and Piazza San Francesco) (2 July 2024, 08.00 – 20.00):

    • Reversal of the direction of travel towards Piazza San Francesco – Piazza Stracca.
  • VIA MATAS (2 July 2024, 08.00 – 20.00):

    • Obligation to continue straight towards Piazza Stracca.
  • SAN FRANCESCO SQUARE (2 July 2024, 08.00 – 20.00):

    • Vehicles parked inside the square will have to turn right towards Piazza Stracca.
