“For having become ambassadors of Tuscany and Florence in the world. And this thanks to the extraordinary concert held on July 1, 2016 in Piazza Santa Croce in Florence, from which Il Volo produced a CD and a DVD that brought millions of people to life the emotions of a unique and unrepeatable event in an equally unique and unrepeatable scenario”.
With these words, President Eugenio Giani today handed over the Pegasus of the Tuscany Region to Il Volo, the trio formed by Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble. The trio will be in concert on July 22nd at the Musart Festival in Pratolino Park, where they will celebrate 15 years of career and long friendship with the Italian public.
Present at the delivery ceremony, together with President Giani, were the mayor of Vaglia Silvia Catani and the mayor of Marradi Tommaso Triberti, with responsibility for tourism in the Metropolitan City. Giani recalled the memorable “Magic Night” concert in Santa Croce, underlining how the event brought the image and charm of Tuscany beyond national borders and overseas. He also highlighted the importance of Il Volo in the diffusion and testimony of the love for opera music, considered the intangible heritage of humanity.
