There Tuscany region has approved a tender aimed at natural persons for the purchase of properties to be used as residence and habitual residence in the mountain municipalities of Tuscany with less than 5000 inhabitants. This announcement, called “Mountain Residency 2024”, Its objective is the repopulation and socio-economic redevelopment of mountain areas, combating the marginalization and abandonment of these areas.

Recipients of the tender
They can apply natural persons who meet the following requirements:
- Be an Italian citizen, a citizen of a European Union state or a non-EU citizen with a residence permit lasting no less than 10 years.
- Be of age.
- Being resident in an Italian municipality does not fit according to the latest available Istat data.
Eligibility requirements
To be eligible and benefit from the contribution, applicants must purchase a property for residential use, which already exists on the date of publication of the notice.
The eligible expenses are those relating to the purchase of the property, documented by a notarial deed of sale or by a judicial deed in the event of an award at auction.
Deadline and submission of the application
The questions must be submitted exclusively electronically via a specific web application from 1pm on 12 June 2024 until 1pm on 27 July 2024.
AND you need to authenticate using the National Service Card (CNS), the Public Digital Identity System (SPID) or the Electronic Identity Card (CIE).
Eligible expenses
Eligible expenses they only include the purchase of the property for residential use, including the related appurtenances. They will not be eligible:
- expenses for properties with cadastral classification A/1, A/8 and A/9;
- properties not registered in the land register;
- properties in their raw state, or purchases between first and second degree relatives.
Type of concession
L’The minimum amount that can be requested will be 10,000 eurosor, while the maximum will be equal to 30,000 euros. The contribution will cover up to 50% of the expenses incurred for the purchase of the property.
Financial allocation
The call has a total financial allocation of 2,800,000 euros, allocated in the 2024-2026 financial budget.
