Five thousand items of luxury items with false brands, worth approximately 2 million euros and intended for trade on the coast, were seized by the Guardia di Finanza of the Provincial Command of Livorno.

In fact, as the Guardia di Finanza itself explains in a note “With the arrival of the summer season, another serious problem re-emerges that the Fiamme Gialle find themselves having to combat, namely that of the trafficking and sale of counterfeit articles. With the aim of deal a significant blow to this illegal trade, which causes serious damage to the legal economy and risks putting into circulation even articles that are sometimes dangerous from a health point of view, the Livorno Group, coordinated by the Labronico Provincial Command, has developed a detailed activity operational aimed at blocking or, at least, limiting the sale of counterfeit goods along the Tuscan coast, seizing “upstream” the supply of the aforementioned illicit goods”.

The operational campaign therefore led to the seizure of a large quantity of “luxury fakes” and 6 people were reported for the crimes of introducing into the State and trading in products with false signs and receiving stolen goods.

The service originates from autonomous intelligence activity, carried out “in the field” with inspections, stakeouts and controls in the area, along the road axes and even at the mail sorting centers, as well as express couriers; during these activities the Fiamme Gialle therefore identified “suspicious” trafficking and shipments.

The in-depth investigations, through the use of the databases used by the Corps and the monitoring of some online sales platforms, have therefore made it possible to identify the real recipients of the illicit goods, thus reconstructing the so-called counterfeit supply chain.

The multiple search and seizure activities carried out during the “operational campaign” led to the overall discovery and consequent seizure of over 5,000 clothing items of the “Dior”, Gucci”, etc. brands.

The activity carried out by the Livorno Group allowed the seizure of a considerable part of the “summer” supply that those responsible for the illegal sale were preparing for the retail sale of “luxury fakes” along the Tuscan beaches in view of the summer season, to wealthy buyers willing to run the risk of being reported for receiving stolen goods, also paying a significant price (several hundred euros), albeit lower than the real item purchased in a boutique.

The assessments carried out on the seized products confirmed their counterfeit nature and also the high quality of the counterfeit, so much so that the goods would have deceived even the most expert eyes.
