The meeting at Villa Campolieto
The 35th edition of the “Festival of the Vesuvian Villas” was presented at Villa Campolieto in Ercolano. With the artistic direction of Bruno Tabacchini, the event historically supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Campania Region and promoted by the Ente Ville Vesuviane Foundation, from 4 to 28 July 2024, will be divided as usual between theatre, music and dance.

And to reiterate the values of the event, the president of the Ente Ville Vesuviane foundation, Dr., spoke during the presentation press conference together with some of the artists on the bill. Gennaro Miranda, the representatives of the Management Board, Elena Scarlato and Alfonso Gifuni, the artistic director Tabacchini himself, the Advisor to the Minister for Cultural Heritage the Hon. adv. Luciano Schifone and the general director of the Ville Vesuviane Foundation, Dr. Roberto Chianese. «The festival – underlined the president of the Ente Ville Vesuviane, Dr. Gennaro Miranda – represents an opportunity for development and valorisation of the historical, artistic and cultural heritage constituted by the 18th century Vesuvian Villas”.
And while the Honorable Schifone, in bringing greetings from Minister Sangiuliano, said he was happy with the work done, the artistic director Tabacchini spoke of “a varied program ready to demonstrate the postulate according to which culture is beauty, and art in all its manifestations, is nothing other than the representation and expression of it”.
The program
We will start on July 4th at 9.00 pm with «God is dead and I don’t feel so good either – The words of the genius Woody Allen immersed in his music» with Tullio Solenghi. On July 5th it will be the turn of Eduardo De Crescenzo and «It happened in Naples – passion for voice and piano», a show with an introduction to listening by Federico Vacalebre and accompaniment by maestro Julian Oliver Mazzariello. On 6 July Michele Placido will arrive at Villa Campolieto with «The Sosia – Public and private life of Franz Schubert, musician».
Among the other proposals, the project «In the rooms of the Duke Di Sangro» conceived by Riccardo Citro; «Music in Between» with the Borderline Company; «Will (not) Era Shakespeare» with Roberto Russo Vs Paese mio Bello; «Eretico Neapolitan Shakespeare» with Gianni Lamagna, Patrizia Spinosi, Lello Giulivo and Anna Spagnuolo and the dramaturgy of Mariano Bauduin; «Sidewalk Witches», by Stefano Amatucci; the «Corti di Teatro al Tramonto» with «Cyrano known as ‘O Bergerac» directed and starring Adriano Falivene; the ballet «Swan Lake» with choreography by Luigi Martelletta; Roberto Maria Azzurro with «The Art of Bonì».
And again «Le Ebbanesis» Viviana & Serena with «Transleit»; Gea Martire and «La cappella di famiglia» by Marco Perillo; Nunzia Schiano with «Femmene», the «Skaramacay» Company with «Novella e le altre»; «Totò, the man beyond the mask» with Agostino De Angelis and Elena Anticoli De Curtis; Ivana D’Addona in concert, «Salomè» seen by Riccardo Citro; Antimo Casertano with «I cinque figli» and again the choreographer Luigi Martelletta with the ballet «Carmen & Bolero».
